My journey to Mastering the Pronunciation of the word/figure three(3)

 If you ask my siblings, they will testify to u how they tried so hard to teach me how to read but they were just getting nowhere. I learnt how to read when I was 10 I was in Primary four(4). I have a niece who could read a Bible fluently by the time she was 5 years, not children's Bible but big people's Bible.

Back to my siblings, between the age of 6-10 my siblings really tried. I had one problem, cram work. They would show me a word and I would just look at the first letter then just mention any words with those features. For example they would show me a word like cow I would see C and say Cat. When they say no I again say cup. Then they would tell me no, at this point I don't not know what they want from me so I hold my chin and look up trying to think of the word. That usually got a reaction of what u are reading is not up there, look into the book. 

My siblings were in upper primary and secondary so they felt they could help me with my reading but I made it so difficult for them🤣🤣🤣🤣. 

There is one thing  that always amused them so much in those my training sessions, my pronunciations of some words were straight up funny. The one word/figure i couldn't pronounce  well was three(3). So my brother would tell me say Three I would go SEEREEE (with Bass), no three i go again Seeree. Then my sister comes in she tells me say thrwi(that's how I hear it) I go siiriii, now that was because her voice sounded girlish and sharp so to me siirii sounded the sameway like hers. She goes again this time with even a sharper tone three I repeat swiiii.🤦🏿‍♀🤦🏿‍♀ She repeats it three, slowly this time, I go swiiiiriiiii....

Hmm this time round they try saying the word faster three, so me i also go fast siri. They tried for 4 years until they got me there but, I somehow can't shake this feeling that they just loved hearing me say siirii, swiii, swiiriii and seeree. However hectic it was, it always got them laughing, I just never understood why they always laughed at my pronunciation of that word yet to me I was nailing the word properly.
